  • Client-installed third-party software hosted on Rosseta Ltd infrastructure

3. Definitions

  • Third-party Software: Any software not developed in-house by Rosseta Ltd.
  • Licensor: The original publisher or copyright owner of the software.
  • Licensee: The client or Rosseta Ltd who is granted usage rights under a software license.
  • Open-source Software: Software licensed under publicly accessible licenses such as GPL, MIT, Apache, etc.

4. Terms of Use

4.1. Licensing Models

Rosseta Ltd uses third-party software licensed under the following models:

  • Commercial software under paid or subscription licenses
  • Open-source software under community licenses (GPL, MIT, etc.)
  • Software licensed through vendors (e.g., WHM/cPanel, LiteSpeed, Softaculous)

4.2. Software Installation & Deployment

Third-party software may be pre-installed or made available through one-click installers. Clients must comply with the licensing terms presented during installation or use. Rosseta Ltd does not alter third-party license agreements.

4.3. License Validity and Renewal

Licenses purchased through Rosseta Ltd remain valid as long as the hosting plan is active and in good standing. Non-payment, account suspension, or termination may lead to deactivation or removal of licensed software.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • Clients must comply with all terms of third-party software licenses, whether the software is pre-installed or manually uploaded.
  • Clients may not copy, redistribute, resell, or alter licensed software unless expressly permitted by the license agreement.
  • Use of pirated or unlicensed software is strictly prohibited on Rosseta Ltd servers.
  • Clients bear full responsibility for verifying licensing terms when installing custom software on their hosting environment.
  • Clients are responsible for license renewals and software updates for manually installed third-party tools.

6. Rosseta Ltd Responsibilities

  • Provide legally acquired third-party software for its hosting platforms.
  • Ensure that commercial licenses bundled with hosting plans remain active during the subscription period.
  • Notify customers of any changes in software licensing that may affect service delivery.
  • Maintain transparency regarding the origin and licensing model of software used.
  • Remove or replace unsupported or expired third-party software where necessary.

7. Software Updates & Support

Rosseta Ltd provides updates and security patches for licensed third-party software included with its hosting services, subject to availability from the vendor. Clients are encouraged to regularly check for updates for any manually installed third-party software.

Technical support for bundled third-party software is provided to the extent that it is covered under the hosting plan. Support for external, client-installed tools must be obtained from the original software provider.

8. License Violations

Unauthorized use, distribution, or modification of licensed software constitutes a breach of this policy. In such cases, Rosseta Ltd may:

  • Suspend or terminate services without refund
  • Report the incident to the appropriate software licensor
  • Assist in legal investigations if required
  • Impose fines or penalties for repeat or serious infractions

9. Open-source Software Use

Open-source software may be provided "as-is" with no warranties or guarantees from Rosseta Ltd. Clients are encouraged to:

  • Review licensing terms specific to each open-source tool
  • Regularly apply security patches and updates
  • Avoid violating license requirements such as attributions, copyleft clauses, and redistribution rules

10. Indemnification

Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rosseta Ltd, its affiliates, and its partners from any legal liability or third-party claims arising from the misuse or unauthorized use of third-party software installed by the client on our infrastructure.

11. Modifications to Policy

Rosseta Ltd reserves the right to amend or update this Third-party Software & Licensing Policy at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes via email or through announcements on our website. Continued use of our services after such changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Disclaimers

  • Rosseta Ltd is not the creator or licensor of any third-party software unless explicitly stated.
  • All trademarks and brand names mentioned are the property of their respective owners.
  • Rosseta Ltd does not warrant the performance, reliability, or security of third-party software not developed in-house.
  • Use of any third-party software is at the client’s own risk unless bundled and supported as part of a hosting plan.
